Tony Bennett A Family Christmas Taped with Tony’s actual family. Tony was great to work with over the two days of taping, and when he came one night to post, I was able to capture his signature on the video paint box for the end of the show. We utilized some instrumental tracks that Tony had recorded in a previous Christmas album. Tony liked those arrangements so much (arranged & conducted by Robert Farnon) , that he wanted us to try and incorporate them. We also displayed much of Tony’s original artwork all over the set and captured this artist’s intimate performances through the use of double lavaliere microphones, with a live trio just a couple of feet away. A guest acapella performance by the Manhattan Transfer completed a great show. It was produced for CBS Video and also aired on the NBC O & O’s.
